The Prizefighters have been at the heart of conserving the sounds of 1960s Jamaica since 2006. Born from a deep love of ska, rocksteady and early reggae, The Prizefighters aim to continue the short-lived legacy of these amazing genres, paying full respect to authenticity and style of the times. Over their decade plus of bringing the roughest and toughest sounds of Orange Street, they have worked as the backing bands for legendary performers Stranger Cole, Derrick Morgan, Roy & Yvonne, and Charlie Organaire, as well as sharing the stage with acts such as the Skatalites, Toots and the Maytals, Lee Perry, Hepcat, the Slackers, and many more.

TUGG has done an amazing job channeling tropical grooves and breezy melodies and has quickly become a top draw in the Midwest and beyond. Coming from a state known more for the Green Bay Packers, cold weather, and cheese, they boast an impressive resume of rubbing shoulders with reggae heavyweights. From shows with Ziggy Marley, Barrington Levy and Slightly Stoopid to Tours with The Wailers, The Dirty Heads, and PASSAFIRE… TUGG continues to prove why they’re a star of the alternative reggae/ska scene. All of the band’s last 5 releases have debuted in the Top 50 of the iTunes Reggae Chart. Their EP “Home Brew” climbed all the way to #2 and spent 3 weeks in the Hot 100 iTunes Reggae Album Chart. Their album “Mazes” was recorded and produced by PASSAFIRE’S Ted Bowne.

Gizzae is truly a band of the world – With musicians hailing from the four corners of the Earth, Rocket and Gizzae have been playing for crowds across the country for over 35 years! Their musical experiences have collectively earned them Grammy® awards, Chicago Music Awards and they have opened for some of the biggest names in Reggae. Just when you think you’ve heard everything Gizzae has to offer, the band instinctively and seamlessly transitions into Bob Marley reggae/blues finale to satisfy the keyboard and guitar solo fans. This is the way to see a Chicago reggae band!Formed in 1992 after the breakup of Dallol (Ziggy Marley’s Touring Band) and Moja Nya (New York), Gizzae soon became a fan favorite in the Chicago and Midwest reggae scene. A Sunday night staple at the fledgling Wild Hare, fans started to come out to hear this new reggae band in force and 29 years later, they still rock the house. If you like live jams and wicked solos, come dance the night away with Gizzae!
